Who Is This Raving Person?

Boston born and raised and proud of it! Boston Public School Alumna who believes that public education CAN be quality education.

I am the mother of three children, my son who is now 28, and two daughters who are 18 and 15. My son is no longer in school, but attended BPS schools, and my girls are in college and a BPS high school now.

Because of what we went through when my son needed help from BPS I became what I am today - an education and social justice advocate with a focus on public and special education as well as politics.

Outspoken and a fighter for causes I believe in, I also try to share as much news and info as I can with others, hence this blog. Though started as an education blog, I often find myself posting on other topics (especially politics), so please bear with me.

I am a chronic volunteer for the schools my children attend as well as district groups: currently I serve as one of four co-Chairs for the BPS Citywide Parent Council, but am also the former chair of the original Boston Special Needs Parent Advisory Council (11 years!) and am a founding member of the Roslindale Pathway Advisory Group. I also proudly sit on the Board of Citizens for Public Schools.

As well as being a Trainer for the Federation for Children with Special Needs, I am an FCSN trained Parent Education Advocate.
Obviously, I love to help others. Known well by the politicians, school district administrators and many education and special needs organizations, I have a vast array of resources to share with you which I hope you will find useful.

I will do my best to post as often as possible, when my kids and my volunteering allow. Thank you for reading my blog and please don't be shy - introduce yourself!

  1. So, inquiring minds want to know, why did John Verre abruptly leave in the dark, for the uber wealthy hamlet of Darren, CT? To date, this remarkable departure has not once been publicly noted within BPS nor publicly noted within the so-called BPS SPEDPAC.
